Miss Emberly

After shooting one of my assignments I decided to shoot a few extra pics of my model. She is such a beautiful little girl. It was hard to get her to sit still and she really wanted her picture taken, but, she wouldn't sit still. So between her mom and I we were trying to get her to sit still. She would pose a few times and then she would start wiggling which is normal for a little girl her age. Finally I told her that I had to go and I couldn't take any more pictures of her. So on the second picture you see here this is the expression I got when I told her that. On some of the shots I started out with a Nikon D700, but I ended up using the Canon 7D for these shots. F/7 @ 1/80 on the first shot and F/5.7 @ 1/160 on the second shot and ISO 200 (for both). Light source was natural light and a 285 Vivatar flash.

Lifestyles Illustration Assignment

For this assignment we were asked to shoot around the home computer (desktop or laptop). The image was to produce emotion, time and place. It is to illustrate relationship, family, friendship etc., working/playing together in a positive, inviting atmosphere. We were to turn in 5-10 vertical and horizontal shots. Here is one of my shots I am submitting. I used a Canon 7d on this shot. Settings were F/16 @ 1/8 with an ISO of 320. I have included a shot of my setup. Oh yes, I forgot to mention both lights were not used in this shot. I actually ended up using only the main light to the left of my shot because I wanted a more natural lighting making it look like light coming in from a window (on the left) only thing used for back lighting was natural light coming in from window over to the right/behind of subjects.

Team ad duplication assignment

This week in our photographic illustration class we were asked to get in teams and find a picture in a magazine or internet and try to duplicate it. (sorry I did not get to post the real ad). This is my teams duplication of the ad. Although, we could not find any blue cheese we substituted herbed brie. Shot with a Canon 5d Mark II, 50mm 1.4 lens, ISO 100, f22 @ 1/125. I also included a picture of our setup.

Nana's baby!

This image of my granddaughter was taken at Pirates Cove in Manteo, NC during our family vacation this summer (2010). For lighting I used a Vivatar 285 flash. I used a Canon 7D. settings for this shot was F/5.6 @ 1/8 , ISO was 200

Available Light Assignment

I thought this one was extra fun. This is my first product lighting assignment and it was using only available light coming from my living room window. taken between 5 to 7pm (i cant remember). It was getting kind cloudy out and I was afraid I wouldn't have enough light but I think it come out pretty nice. This was using my digital camera on a tripod with cable release. F/8 @ around 1/8 to 1/15 on shutter speed. Also, using aluminum foil and a white reflective card for fill light. Yay, It was definitely a learning experience.

thank you Courtney for letting me photograph you. I think we had a great day, great weather and great time that day. Most of the shots with Courtney were taking around the Danbury courthouse.

I shot this one at Victory Junction Camp close to Randleman. I used it for my color assignment in my design class.

I shot this one digital but had originally used a medium format camera but it didn't turn out the way I had wanted so I never used it. I really loved the way came out in digital. I love old things, especially old cars and trucks.
