Dr. Love

This was shot at my church's Valentine's banquet. I did some portraits but also did some shots for fun. This is Jonathan playing Dr. Love at KCC's 2011 Valentine's Banquet. Thank you Jonathan for a great job done!

Fresh Air Assignment

In our Advertising Photography class last week we were giving an assignment to illustrate "air" in a positive , green, environmentally postive way. This was shot somewhere outside of Randleman using a Canon 7d and just evening sun and a fill card. I do wish I would have used a smaller feather but this was the only feather I could find at the time.

Heart to Heart

This was playing around with lighting and photographing the grandbabies. Using a Canon 7d and one soft box to the left and a umbrella behind camera. set up in my kitchen. Not a lot of room to work with but fun shooting.

Commercial Kid

This started out as just a fun shot but I really like how it turned out and decided to post it on here. Mary Beth is one of my classmates (commercial kids).

Joint-Project

In our Advertising Photography class we have an assignment to work and partner with a graphic design artist to come up with a campaign based on national consumer advertising. We decided to create an ad campaign to promote awareness about Domestic Violence against women. My group consist of Cassie Kiser (Photographer), Brittney King (Graphic Design) and myself (Photographer). We are using black paint to represent the bruises along with the handprint on the person's body, and all this also representing what the woman feels like going through in a domestic violent relationship. Domestic Violence against women is not just physical but can also be verbal and controlling. There is no limit to age group or nationality it could happen to anyone. Here I have selected a couple of shots I have taken during this endeavor.

Rejoice

Last Sunday I went for a walk in the woods behind my home. It's amazing how quiet and beautiful it can be even in the middle of winter. God is like that!

Monopoly

Shot this in my kitchen with a canon 7d at F/5.6 @ 1/30 and ISO at 200. focal length 48mm. Used one strobe light with medium size soft box over top to the left and reflector on the right. Second picture of setup. Softbox was actually up higher and over top of monopoly game a little bit more. also different angle in shot above. I had broke everything down and remembered that I needed to shoot the setup.

Dessert Assignment

In our Advertising Photography class our first assignment this semester we were asked to choose a dessert and create a table top illustration.

I chose to do strawberries and kiwis. This was shot in studio using a canon 7d with settings at F/10 @ 1/125 and ISO of 200. For lighting I used one alien bee strobe light opposite the camera and over to the left with a #40 grid and fill cards on opposite side.

PaPaw's Pocket Watch

This pocket watch was given to my son Josh when he was 13 years old after his papaw passed away. It has a lot of special meaning to my son. The face on it is cracked because a short while after my son received it he accidentally lost it and it had been stepped on. In fear that he would lose it or that it would get totally destroyed he asked me to put it up for safe keeping. I'm sure that if this watch could talk it would have many more stories of its own to tell. I decided to use this pocket watch for one of my shoots to be able to share with not only Josh, but also his family, and the many people this watch has come in contact with that knew Josh's papaw "Jeff Eldridge." We miss you PaPaw! This was shot in my home on the kitchen table with a canon 7d using only 1 strobe light and reflectors.

What started out as one project turned into another. Enjoyed playing with fire last night Lol, mostly ended up with a lot of hot wax on my fingers, but was pleased with the out come as far as the image. I have had a lot of fun playing around with some shoots here at the house while on break. Next week is back to 8 weeks of school and then 8 weeks of internship.

It's very rare I get to photograph my son, or at least it has been a while. I had a great time shooting these and spending time with Josh. These were shot in my dining room at my home in Sandy Ridge.

Blue Ridge Heaven

Took a trip to Cana, Fancy Gap and the Blue Ridge Parkway on Sunday 11/14/10. I decided to try out the Tilt Shift Lens for purtty much the first time. I really like it and I ended up at a little produce market in Cana Virginia and ended up with some pics I really liked. Most of the leafs have fallen off the trees but it was still colorful enough to know that it is Fall, and my most favorite time of the year. Its hard not to get lost in the moment, a beautiful day, all the beautiful colors and a great time with Mr. Tilt Shift Lens. Can't wait for the next adventure!

Creative detail work

Got to do some creative details for practice on our Masterbrand shoot. Although, next week I will be posting an actual shot I did for our clients still pending for approval. (This was done on my internship at ViewPoint Studios in High Point NC)

2nd week of Internship

This is my second week at ViewPoint Studios and today we were asked to photograph one of the employees. We were to pretend that he was our client and shoot some images to deliver to him to choose from. There are 3 of us here from RCC interning at VP and we were to individually setup lights and camera and produce a nice portrait of our client. Our client "Bobby"
